Watercolored Flower using Distress Inks

Hi crafty friends!
I have been wanting to try watercoloring using distress inks for some time now and finally got around to doing it. I am sharing a loose watercolor painting using Mini DI kit #1
Watercolored flower using Distress Inks [Kit #1]

First I sketched a hibiscus flower roughly and started layering colors. I have used spiced marmalade, mustard seed and picked raspberry for the flower and a combination of mustard seed and peacock feathers for the leaves and stems.
Then once I was happy with the basic coloring added some definitions to the outlines and strokes using some watercolor pencils.

I fuzzy cut the image and mounted it onto another CS and then layered it onto another panel.[Not visible in the pic though]

Let me know how it is guys!!

Shabby Chic Altered Tin Can

Shabby Chic Altered Tin Can:

Hi all,
I am sharing another uber cute upcycle project today. I really hate throwing away those "of-great-use" tin cans that watches comes in. I usually use it to store some beads/stationery.
I wanted to give it a real nice face lift and make it super cute as a desk accessory.

Altered Shabby Chic style tin can

I recently purchased some amazing pattern paper packs , laces and flowers from charming Neha from CraftBuzz. I wanted to put them to good use in this project. So I first took a pretty in pink sheet from the pack and covered the outside as well the insides.
This pack from Eno Greetings comes with co ordinating die cuts and borders. So I added a scalloped border and lace trims on the top and bottom edges. I lined the inner edge as well.
I dyed some ribbon using picked raspberry Distress inks and added a trim and a bow to the bottom.

Then I created a shabby lace flower with adorned it with bright yellow flowers. It is start of spring afterall. So let it be springy and refreshing!!

The total effect is so shabby - so chic - yet refreshing :)

Shabby Chic Photo Album

Hi all,
Here is my first try of a photo album in Shabby Chic style. I recycled some packaging boxes to form the main layout and covered it up using some really pretty pattern papers. For the from of the cover I added some really beautiful colors in shades of pastel pink, white and orange. Some laces, OFC what is shabby chic without some lace on it and some die cuts.

The inside has 7 pages each decorated with beautiful coordinating sheets and can contain photos or sentiments or memoirs. I also created a shabby flower using some lace and adhered it to the cover.
