I cant believe it has been one year since my first post!! :)
This year has been really awesome and have made some great friends via the blog :)

It so happens to be my aunt's birthday today too :) :)
So I am sharing with a quilled project that I have made for her. A simple quillography with her name and that of her husband's. And some flowers to the kitty :)

It is yet to be framed and I hope it has turned out well!! :)

I have used Itsy Bitsy card stock for the back and 5mm and 3 mm strips for the quilled items. My favorite part was lining some of the items in white ink.. Don't know why i tried that , but I like how it turned out!!!

It s been a really really long time since i touched my quilling items.I seem to have missed so much on all of your recent works too :( :(

But here's what I came up with in the last two days.
This is something for my dearest teacher Sanjana Laxman, who has always been with me right from school, guess 6th class. :) Even after we leave school, we can never forget our teacher nor can they, their students. We share a close relationship and she has been with me all these years supporting me in whatever I do.....

Wishing you great times ahead mam, I can't say 'Bon anniversaire' now, as it is already over :P But, better late than never :) :)

I have used 1 cm strips to make the fringed flowers and the lettering. Added some roses to add color and fill up the space. The frame was handmade with 1.5 cm border thickness. I learnt how to make it here.

Quilled Name - Yet another try!

It has been reaallly long since i was active. Sorry for that. Its been hectic around here and trying to squeeze in time for quilled seemed an almost impossible task. Luckily when need arises you somehow find the time!

Its my collegue's daughter's birthday next month. The same date as that of the Indian film industry's Super Star 'Rajini Kanth' 12-12-12. So thought why not give her a quilled name for her birthday. She is such a sweet lil girl and extremely adorable. So i sat down to begin. The challenge for me here was her name is quite long. Thahalaathmiga. It means something serene (not sure exactly). I have not tried such big lettering till now and was a bit scared as to how it will turn out.
I did just the name first,then came the two flowers. I wanted to keep the main colours to blue and black so didn't use green for the leaves. Just went ahead and used blue for it too and wanted it to be a change.
The first design didn't look consistent to me so modified that to and here you see the final effect in the second pic. Colours don't look the same as i have a very bad camera, so added some effects.
