Hi all,
I am here with a new technique that I have been meaning to try out for quite some time now. I had some plain MDF boxes and trinkets lying around and I am just getting my hand on trying decoupage and other techniques on them. Here is a quite white vintage feel trinket box that is suitable for gifts to the masculine gender too!.
I applied a base coat of gesso and then a couple of layers of white chalk paint from Itsy bitsy. For the lid I have used Back chalk paint.
This project was done for a friend of mine who wanted it ina black and white combination. I did not want to add flowers or embellishments lest it too too feminine. I wanted to keep it simple for him yet attract attention.
So i used a couple of script fonts that I had with me from Kaisercraft and Itsy bitsy and some mixed media element stamp like the hexagon print. I distressed the edges using Ranger archival ink.
To preserve the piece I appied generous coats of Asian Paints Aquadur varnish.
let me know how you feel about this fellas!
